The year 1912 marked the migration of the first of the Roca family from Europe to San Rafael, Argentina. They chose this region and dedicated their lives to their passion, growing vines for the production of high quality wines. Today, the Roca family is in its fourth generation of wine making, and continues with its heritage of producing high quality grapes to obtain fine wines for all its consumers to enjoy. Every bottle of wine from the Roca Winery is a testimony to the passion of the family towards the art of winemaking.

Situated in San Rafael, southern vine-growing oasis of Mendoza, the winery’s vineyards are irrigated with the natural waters form the Andes Mountain Chain through the rivers Diamante and Atuel. Since the Roca family knows that the best wines are born in the vineyards, they take care of them personally in order to obtain from their vines the best oenological conditions to be eventually reflected in their wines.

The winery possesses considerable refrigerating capacity which permits the drastic reduction of temperature of the field of all the raw material that enters in the period of harvest. It also contains inertness with N2 and CO2 gases to prevent the O2 from having contact with the wine. Roca Winery’s production capacity is of 1.63 million L per year.

Roca wines have been able to attract the plates of the most demanding consumers in the local and international markets by following the most modern concepts of Oenology, yet staying true to their heritage and traditions.

ALFREDO ROCA FAMILY RESERVE Malbec 100% Malbec Age of vineyard – 30 years old Oak maturation – 12 months, 70% French Oak, 30% American Oak. Winemaker’s Notes: Intense color where the perfect red, violet tones are reflected. Aromas of red fruit are predominant which are found perfectly combined with sweet notes of vanilla coming from the wood. In the mouth, it has a significant structure thanks to the high concentration of well-ripened tannins. Overall, it is an elegant wine of great persistence in the mouth.

ALFREDO ROCA FAMILY RESERVE Pinot Noir 100% Pinot Noir Oak maturation – 9 months in barrels of French Oak Winemaker’s Notes: Red color of great vividness that is shown in its ruby tones, intense and deep for the elegant and interesting thanks to its varieties of aromas. In the mouth, it has a complex and delicate personality, with flavors of dark fruit and spices that are outstanding, they remain very attractive due to the maturation of the wine in the French Oak.

ALFREDO ROCA FAMILY RESERVE Chardonnay 100% Chardonnay Fermentation in Oak – 50% American Oak, 50% French Oak. Oak Maturation – 8 months. Winemaker’s Notes: This is a Chardonnay wine with great concentration in the mouth, offering a sweet sensation that perfectly blends with the notes of vanilla contributed by its maturation in oak. The malolactic fermentation that was induced in this wine is reflected in the butters smearing sensation that it spreads in the mouth.

ALFREDO ROCA Chardonnay Winemaker’s Notes: It is a pleasure for the family to offer this exciting 100% Chardonnay of young characteristics, with yellow and greenish color, good intensity of fruity aromas that resemble peaches and tropical fruit together with French Oak.

ALFREDO ROCA Merlot o Winemaker’s Notes: This wine offers harmonious, soft tannin, delicate velvet body. It supplies an attractive style of Merlot that harmonizes with new as well as more demanding drinkers.

ALFREDO ROCA Malbec Winemaker’s Notes: The Malbec grape found in Mendoza is one of the most exquisite examples of this single-varietals found in the world. This wine presents a red colour of excellent concentration and equilibrium in the mouth, with outstanding sweet tannins combined with flavours that resemble plum jelly.
